Multi-language
Kuno transcribes recordings in many languages and automatically detects what's being spoken — even when a meeting involves multiple languages. The transcription language and your notes language can be set independently.

Kuno is built for the multilingual everyday reality of the DACH region. Whether it’s a meeting in German, a customer call in English, or an event where both come up — the Kuno device records, and the Kuno app transcribes in the appropriate language.
Supported languages
Kuno transcribes German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, and other European languages, among others. The list is continually expanding; you can see the currently available languages directly in the app under Settings › Language.
Transcription language and notes language
Two things can be set independently in Kuno:
- Transcription language – the language in which the spoken words are transcribed verbatim.
- Notes language – the language in which Kuno creates your summary and notes.
For example, you can have an English conversation transcribed in the original language while receiving the summary in German.
Letting Kuno detect the language automatically
- Open the Kuno app and go to Settings › Language.
- Under Transcription language, choose Detect automatically.
- Start the recording on the Kuno device — the recording LED lights up as soon as recording begins.
Kuno detects the spoken language on its own. For meetings held entirely in one language, you can alternatively choose a fixed language to increase accuracy.
Mixed-language conversations
If speakers switch between languages within a meeting, Kuno automatically assigns each section to the language it detects. For the summary, you set a single notes language — regardless of how many languages came up in the conversation.
Setting language per recording
If you want to make an exception for a single meeting, tap the recording in the app before starting and adjust the language for just that recording. The global setting stays unchanged.
Improving technical terms
Enter proper names, product names, or technical vocabulary under Settings › Dictionary. Kuno then takes these terms into account during transcription.
Note on consent and privacy: Recording confidential spoken conversations requires the consent of everyone involved in Germany (Section 201 StGB). Inform your conversation partners before recording — the visible recording LED on the Kuno device helps with this. Processing happens exclusively on EU servers, GDPR-compliant and without transfer to third countries.
