AI-enhanced notes
AI notes automatically turn your Kuno recording into a structured summary with the key points and action items. Processing happens entirely on EU servers.
At a glance
- AI notes are built from your recording's transcript, your own bullet points, and (if linked) the calendar event details.
- Processing and storage happen exclusively in EU data centers (GDPR-compliant).
- Every note point is linked to the original moment in the transcript and can be verified.
- Notes can be freely edited or regenerated with a different template.
- The red LED on the device visibly indicates every recording — important for consent under Section 201 StGB.
- You retain full control at all times and can permanently delete recordings and notes.
AI notes automatically summarize your recording, organize it by topic, and highlight decisions and action items. That means you no longer need to take notes during a conversation, yet still keep track of everything afterward.
How AI notes are created
After every recording, the Kuno app builds the notes from three sources:
- the transcript of your recording,
- the bullet points you added yourself in the app,
- the calendar event details, if you linked the recording to a calendar entry.
Processing starts automatically as soon as the Kuno device has transferred the recording to the app. For longer conversations, this usually takes one to two minutes.
Privacy & EU data sovereignty: Transcription and AI processing take place exclusively on servers within the EU. Your recordings never leave the European legal area and are not used to train AI models. This is fully GDPR-compliant.
Tracing sources
Every point in your AI notes can be verified. Tap the magnifying glass icon next to a paragraph, and the app jumps straight to the corresponding moment in the transcript. That way you can always see what a statement is based on.
Editing or regenerating notes
AI notes are a starting point, not a final result. You have three options:
- Edit directly: Tap into the text and change it freely. Changes apply only to that one recording.
- Switch templates: Use Regenerate to choose a different template, such as “Short minutes,” “Doctor’s appointment,” or “Action item list.”
- Add your own bullet points: Add more notes before regenerating — the AI automatically takes them into account.
Visible recording and consent
The Kuno device indicates any recording in progress with a continuously lit red LED. This visible indicator is deliberately designed so your conversation partners can recognize that a recording is happening.
Important legal note: In Germany, recording non-public spoken conversations without the consent of everyone involved is a criminal offense under Section 201 of the German Criminal Code (StGB). Get the consent of your conversation partners before every recording. The red LED helps with this, but does not by itself constitute consent.
Full control over your data
You can permanently delete individual recordings and their associated AI notes in the app at any time. Deleting them also removes the corresponding data from the EU servers.
