1. Introduction

This cookie policy supplements our privacy policy and describes specifically which cookies and similar technologies we use on www.heykuno.com, for what purpose, and on which legal basis.

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. The browser's local storage and similar technologies work comparably. Where this policy refers to “cookies”, these technologies are included.

2. Cookie categories we use

Strictly necessary

These storage entries are required for the site to work and to remember your consent decision between visits — in particular, the entry in your browser's local storage that holds your consent itself. They cannot be disabled via the banner; you can delete the entry at any time via your browser settings.

Preferences

These cookies would store settings such as language or region. We do not currently set any consent-based preference cookies; the category is reserved in the banner in case we add such functionality.

Analytics / statistics

The Google tag is present in consent mode with analytics and advertising storage denied by default. Google Analytics 4 cookies and page-view analytics are activated only after you have given statistics consent. Microsoft Clarity is loaded only after statistics consent and is used for heatmaps, session recordings, and usability analytics.

Marketing

Google Tag Manager is loaded only after marketing consent. It provides the consent-gated container for advertising and retargeting tags. Meta Pixel can be loaded through this container after marketing consent. No Google Ads remarketing tag, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or TikTok Pixel is currently active.

Note: a legacy entry kuno-consent-v1 from earlier versions of the site is migrated to the current format on first visit and then deleted.

4. Legal bases

Storing information on your device and accessing information already stored on it is governed by § 25 TDDDG (the German Telecommunications-Telemedia Data Protection Act):

• § 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG for storage operations that are strictly necessary (e.g. storing your consent itself).
• § 25 (1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR for all other cookies and comparable technologies, as well as the subsequent processing of personal data — this only takes place on the basis of your consent.

5. Managing or withdrawing consent

You can adjust or fully withdraw your consent at any time by clicking “Cookie settings” in the footer. Withdrawal takes effect for the future and does not affect the lawfulness of processing up to that point.

Alternatively, you can re-trigger the banner by deleting the kuno-consent-v2 entry from your browser's local storage. Cookies can also be disabled or selectively deleted in your browser settings.

6. Third parties and data transfers

If you consent to the analytics category, Google Analytics 4 may transfer data to Google LLC in the United States. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We enable IP anonymisation. Without statistics consent no GA4 page-view analytics are sent and Microsoft Clarity is not loaded. If you consent to the analytics category, Microsoft Clarity may connect to Microsoft servers for heatmaps and session recordings. If you consent to the marketing category, Google Tag Manager may connect to Google servers to load the GTM container and, once the corresponding tag is published, load Meta Pixel from Meta servers. No Google Ads remarketing tag, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or TikTok Pixel is currently configured. The controller within the meaning of the GDPR for the processing described in this cookie policy is the entity named in section 1 of the privacy policy. You will find our contact details there.

8. Updates to this cookie policy

This cookie policy reflects the state as of the date noted above. We update it when the services we use or the applicable legal requirements change. The version published on this page is always the current one.
