Here's what comes in your Kuno box and how to identify each part. That way you'll have everything ready and complete before your first setup.

Before setting up your Kuno, it’s worth taking a quick look inside the box. Check the contents for completeness and any shipping damage as soon as you receive it.
What’s included in the box
- Kuno recording device - the device itself, in an aluminum housing with the side recording button and the visible LED recording light.
- USB-C charging cable - fabric-braided cable for charging the device.
- Magnetic carry clip - for attaching Kuno to clothing or a bag.
- Quick-start card - with a QR code that takes you straight to the Kuno app and initial setup.
- Safety and legal notices - a printed insert with information on the battery, disposal, and legal use.
A closer look at your Kuno
The side button controls the main functions: hold it for five seconds to turn the device on or off. A short press starts or stops a recording.
The LED recording light is designed to be clearly visible. It glows a steady red whenever Kuno is recording, and is off when nothing is being recorded. This lets everyone in the room see at a glance whether the device is active.
Note on legal use: In Germany, recording a private conversation without the consent of everyone involved is a criminal offense under Section 201 of the German Criminal Code (StGB). Inform the people you’re talking to and get their consent before recording. The visible red recording light helps you keep things transparent.
Please note
No power plug is included on purpose - this avoids electronic waste. Charge Kuno using an existing USB-C power adapter or a USB port. If the device doesn’t turn on right away, please charge it for about ten minutes first.
Your recordings are processed and stored exclusively on servers in the EU - fully GDPR-compliant, with no detour through third countries.
Something missing or damaged?
If a part is missing or damaged, please contact [email protected]. Your Kuno is covered by the statutory 2-year warranty. If you purchased online, you can also withdraw from the purchase within 14 days without giving a reason (right of withdrawal). It’s a good idea to keep the box and packaging in case you need to return the device.
