Sharing controls
With the sharing controls in the Kuno app, you decide who can see your recordings, transcripts, and summaries. By default, everything stays private and accessible only to you.
At a glance
- Every recording starts out private - sharing only happens when you actively enable it.
- Set per recording or as a default: private, via link, or team only.
- Changes to the default only apply to future recordings, not retroactively.
- Shares can be revoked at any time; the link becomes invalid immediately.
- All data is processed exclusively in the EU, with no model training on your content.
- Important: consent from all conversation participants (Section 201 StGB) is required before any sharing.
Sharing controls let you decide exactly who can access a recording made with the Kuno device, along with its transcript and summary. Out of the box, every recording is private and visible only within your account.
Sharing a single recording
- Open the recording in the Kuno app.
- Tap Share in the top right corner.
- Choose the visibility you want:
- Private — only you have access (default).
- Via link — anyone with the link can view the recording.
- Team only — only members of your organization with a Kuno account.
- For Via link, copy the link and share it through the channel of your choice.
Setting a default sharing option
If you’d rather not configure every recording individually, set a default:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Sharing.
- Choose the default visibility for new recordings.
Note: Changing the default sharing setting only applies to recordings created going forward. Existing recordings keep their previous setting and must be adjusted individually if needed.
Revoking a share
- Open the relevant recording.
- Tap Share and then Revoke share.
The shared link becomes invalid immediately. Anyone who previously received it will no longer be able to access it.
Privacy and consent
Your recordings are processed and stored exclusively on servers within the EU. Kuno never uses your content to train AI models.
Legal notice: In Germany, recording non-public spoken conversations is only permitted with the consent of everyone involved (Section 201 StGB). Obtain this consent before every recording and before every share. The clearly visible recording LED on the Kuno device helps you establish transparency. Responsibility for lawful sharing rests with you.
