This overview explains, in plain language, what data is processed when you use the Kuno device and the Kuno app, and what rights you have under the GDPR. Your recordings stay in the EU, and we never train AI models on your data.

What data we process
- Account data: Name and email address to set up your Kuno account.
- Recordings and transcripts: Voice recordings you create with the Kuno device, along with the transcripts and summaries generated from them.
- Device and usage data: Pairing information, app version, and technical logs to ensure stable operation.
Where your data is processed
All personal data is stored and processed exclusively on servers within the European Union. There is no transfer to the US or other third countries.
We explicitly do not use your recordings and transcripts to train AI models. Your content belongs to you.
How we protect your data
The connection between the device and the app is encrypted over Bluetooth. Recordings are encrypted both in transit and at rest. Access is strictly limited to the personnel needed to run the service.
Your control over recordings
To permanently delete a recording:
- Open the Kuno app and tap the recording you want to remove.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the action — the recording and its associated transcript are permanently removed from our servers.
Recordings and consent
In Germany, recording non-public spoken conversations without consent is a criminal offense under Section 201 of the German Criminal Code (StGB). Inform everyone present before every recording and obtain their agreement. The lit recording LED on the Kuno device helps establish transparency.
Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and restrict the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability and the right to object, at any time. You can also file a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
