Reinstall the app
If the Kuno app won't start properly, won't connect to your device, or gets stuck mid-update, reinstalling it can help. Your recordings and transcripts stay safely stored in the EU throughout.
At a glance
- Your recordings, transcripts, and summaries live in the EU cloud and aren't lost when you uninstall
- Step-by-step instructions for iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play)
- After reinstalling, sign in once with your Kuno account and pair the device again over Bluetooth
- Sync any recordings that haven't uploaded yet before uninstalling
- For ongoing issues, [email protected] is happy to help
Reinstalling the Kuno app is worth trying if the app no longer starts, an update gets blocked (for example on managed work phones), or the connection to your Kuno device keeps dropping. In most cases, setting up the app fresh resolves these issues reliably.
Your data stays safe. Recordings, transcripts, and summaries are stored in your Kuno account in the EU cloud, not just on your phone. Uninstalling the app won’t delete them, and they’ll be available again once you sign back in. If any recordings haven’t synced yet, make sure to sync them first (see below).
Before you uninstall
- Open the Kuno app and check under Recordings that everything has synced (sync icon with no progress indicator).
- Make sure you know your Kuno account credentials (email address and password).
- Have your Kuno device and its pairing button ready, since you’ll need to pair it again afterward.
Reinstalling the app (iOS)
- Press and hold the Kuno app icon on your home screen and choose Remove App › Delete App.
- Open the App Store, search for “Kuno,” and tap the cloud or Get icon.
- Open the app and sign in with your Kuno account.
Reinstalling the app (Android)
- Press and hold the Kuno app icon and drag it to Uninstall, or go to Settings › Apps › Kuno › Uninstall.
- Open Google Play, search for “Kuno,” and tap Install.
- Open the app and sign in with your Kuno account.
Pair the device again
- Turn on Bluetooth on your phone.
- Press the pairing button on the Kuno device until the recording LED blinks.
- Follow the pairing dialog in the app and select your device.
Once you’re signed in, the app automatically syncs your existing recordings back. Your data is processed exclusively in the EU and is never used for AI training.
A note on recording: Remember that recording conversations in Germany is only permitted with the consent of everyone involved (Section 201 StGB). The lit recording LED makes it clear to everyone that the conversation is being recorded.
