Download the apps
The Kuno app is where you set up your recording device, manage your recordings, and access transcripts and summaries. Here's how to download and install the app on iPhone, Android, Mac, and Windows.
At a glance
- The Kuno app is available for iPhone (App Store), Android (Google Play), macOS, and Windows.
- Only use the official links below or search for "Kuno Recorder" to avoid lookalike apps.
- For initial setup, you'll then pair the Kuno device with the app over Bluetooth — covered in a separate guide.
- Your data and accounts are processed on servers in the EU in compliance with GDPR.
- For questions, reach our support team at [email protected].
The Kuno app is the control center for your Kuno recording device. Through it, you pair the device, manage your recordings, and view transcripts and summaries. Download the app before you turn on your device for the first time.
Mobile: iPhone and Android
- On your iPhone, open the App Store, or on your Android device, open Google Play.
- Search for “Kuno Recorder” or use the official links at heykuno.com/app.
- Tap Get or Install and wait for the installation to finish.
- Open the app and sign in with your Kuno ID or create a new account.
Make sure it’s the real thing. The store has several apps with similar names. The genuine Kuno app is published by Kuno GmbH and carries the Kuno logo. If in doubt, use the links from heykuno.com.
Desktop: macOS and Windows
- Go to heykuno.com/app.
- macOS: Download the
.dmgfile (Universal, for Apple Silicon and Intel) and drag Kuno into the Applications folder. - Windows: Download the
.exefile (Windows 10 or later) and follow the installation wizard. - Launch the app and sign in.
Note for macOS: If you see “App can’t be opened” the first time you launch it, right-click Kuno, choose Open, and confirm again with Open. This is a normal macOS security prompt.
Sign in and pair your device
After installation, create a Kuno account or sign in. The app then walks you step by step through pairing: turn on the Kuno device until the status LED pulses slowly white (pairing mode), and select it in the app. Once connected, the LED briefly flashes green. You’ll find the detailed walkthrough under “Pair your device.”
Your data stays in Europe. Kuno processes accounts, recordings, and transcripts exclusively on servers within the EU, in compliance with GDPR. The red recording LED on the device is always clearly visible when recording is active — so it stays transparent to everyone present that a recording is underway.
