Transfer notes
If you want to move your Kuno notes to a different workspace or account — for example when switching teams or devices — you can transfer them securely and completely within the EU. This guide shows you how, and what to watch out for.

- Notes can be transferred individually or in bulk to a different workspace.
- The transfer happens exclusively on EU servers — your data never leaves European territory.
- Subscriptions, folder structure, and custom templates are not transferred automatically.
- You must already be a member of the target workspace for it to appear as an option.
- Admins can restrict the transfer feature for security reasons.
- For shared notes, the original consent given by conversation participants continues to apply.
The notes you create with your Kuno device and process in the Kuno app — transcripts and summaries — belong to you. You can transfer them to a different workspace or account at any time, for example when switching teams, merging workspaces, or setting up a new device.
Transferring individual notes
If you only want to move selected notes:
- In the Kuno app, open the Notes section.
- Tap the note you want and open the menu (three dots).
- Select Transfer, then choose the target workspace.
- Confirm the transfer.
Transferring all notes in bulk
If you want to move every note at once:
- Tap your workspace name at the top.
- Open Settings › General › Data.
- Select Transfer notes.
- Choose the target workspace from the list.
- Confirm. You’ll receive a confirmation once the transfer is complete.
What doesn’t get transferred
Before transferring, please note:
- Your subscription stays with the original workspace and is not moved along.
- The folder structure isn’t carried over — notes appear in the target workspace without their previous filing.
- Custom templates need to be recreated in the target workspace.
Permissions
For security reasons, admins can restrict transfers. If the feature is greyed out, contact your administrator. Admins can find this setting under Settings › General › Data security › Transfer permissions.
Note on privacy and consent: All transfers take place exclusively on Kuno servers within the EU — your recordings and notes never leave European territory, and no model training happens on your data. Keep in mind: the consent given by conversation participants (§ 201 StGB) relates to the original recording and continues to apply. Only share transferred notes in the new workspace with people who are meant to have access for the agreed purpose.
Troubleshooting
- Target workspace missing from the list? You need to already be a member of that workspace.
- Feature not visible? Your admin has likely disabled it.
