Exporting recordings
In the Kuno app, you can export individual recordings or entire batches — as an audio file, transcript, or summary. That way you can bring your content into other programs while staying in control of your data.
At a glance
- Export a single recording directly from the detail view via the “Export” menu
- Available formats: audio (M4A), transcript (TXT, PDF), and summary (PDF, Markdown)
- For multiple recordings at once, use the bulk export in settings; the download link arrives by email
- For security reasons, download links are valid for 24 hours and can be requested again afterward
- Exported files leave the EU infrastructure only once you actively share them — after that, the responsibility is yours
You can export recordings from the Kuno app at any time — for example, to bring a transcript into a document, archive a summary, or back up the original recording. Recordings are created on your Kuno device and synced to the app via Bluetooth; the export itself then happens in the app.
Exporting a single recording
- Open the Kuno app and tap the recording you want, to open its detail view.
- Tap the menu (three dots) in the top right and select Export.
- Choose the format you want:
- Audio (M4A) – the original recording
- Transcript (TXT or PDF) – the written-out text
- Summary (PDF or Markdown) – the short version created by Kuno
- Choose a destination (save to file, share by email, or hand off to another app).
The export is generated immediately and is ready to save or share right away.
Exporting multiple recordings at once
For larger volumes, use the bulk export:
- Go to Settings › Data › Request export.
- Select the time range and the formats you want.
- Confirm the request.
Kuno bundles the files into an archive and sends you a download link by email — anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours later, depending on the volume. For security reasons, the link is valid for 24 hours. After that, you can request the export again at any time.
What happens to your data
Kuno processes your recordings exclusively on EU servers and never uses them to train AI models. An export simply creates a copy for you — the original data stays in your Kuno account until you delete it.
Privacy note: As soon as you share an exported file — by email, cloud, or messenger — it leaves the protected Kuno environment, and responsibility for it under data protection law passes to you. Keep in mind that audio recordings may contain the voices of third parties. Under § 201 StGB and the GDPR, you may only share such recordings with the consent of everyone involved. So only share content with recipients who are entitled to receive it.
