Delete account
You can permanently delete your Kuno account at any time. Here's how to do it, what happens to your recordings and data, and what to check before you delete.
At a glance
- Delete your account in the Kuno app under Settings, Account, Delete account.
- Deletion is permanent: all recordings, transcripts, and summaries are irrevocably removed from our EU infrastructure.
- Cancel any active subscription first; deleting your account alone doesn't automatically stop billing.
- Disconnect your Kuno device in the app before deleting your account so it can be unpaired and reset.
- You can export your data beforehand if you'd like a copy; nothing can be recovered after deletion.
- Your GDPR right to erasure is unaffected either way — reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
You can permanently delete your Kuno account yourself at any time, without giving a reason. This article walks through the process, explains what happens to your data, and what to check beforehand.
Important: Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. All recordings, transcripts, and summaries are irrevocably removed from our EU infrastructure. Nothing can be recovered afterward.
Before you delete
We recommend checking the following before you delete your account:
- Back up your data: Export any recordings, transcripts, or summaries you need via Settings › Data › Export. Once your account is deleted, we can’t recover this content.
- Cancel your subscription: If you have an active Kuno subscription, cancel it first under Settings › Billing. Deleting your account doesn’t automatically stop an ongoing subscription.
- Disconnect your device: Unpair your Kuno device under Settings › Device › Disconnect. This releases the device from the app so it can be re-paired or reset later.
How to delete your account
- Open the Kuno app and go to Settings.
- Tap Account.
- Select Delete account.
- Confirm the action in the security dialog. For security reasons, we’ll ask you to confirm the deletion a second time.
Once confirmed, your account is deactivated immediately. We complete the full, irreversible deletion of all data within 30 days.
What happens to your data
All recordings, transcripts, and summaries stored in your account are permanently deleted. Since Kuno processes all data exclusively in the EU and never uses your content to train AI models, no personal content remains in our systems after deletion. We retain only limited billing records where we’re legally required to (for example, statutory commercial and tax retention periods).
Your right to erasure: Regardless of what’s available in the app, GDPR gives you the right to request deletion of your personal data at any time. If you’d like to request deletion in writing or receive confirmation, contact [email protected].
Creating a new account later
You can sign up again at any time using the same email address. However, your previous recordings and data will no longer be available.
