Sync problems
If your recordings aren't transferring from the Kuno device to the Kuno app, it's almost always due to the Bluetooth connection, an app permission, or an interrupted transfer. The steps below resolve the most common sync issues within a few minutes.
At a glance
- First check Bluetooth, battery level, and whether the device and app are near each other.
- Recordings stay safely stored on the device until the transfer is complete.
- Re-pairing via the pairing button resolves most persistent connection errors.
- Stalled syncs are often caused by large recordings or a weak Bluetooth signal.
- For ongoing issues, contact [email protected] with your device and app version.
Recordings you make with your Kuno device are automatically transferred to the Kuno app via Bluetooth as soon as both are within range. If a recording doesn’t show up in the app, or the transfer gets stuck, the steps below can help.
Your recordings aren’t lost. Every recording stays stored, encrypted, on the Kuno device until it has fully transferred to the app. A failed sync doesn’t mean data loss — the transfer resumes the next time a connection is established.
Initial checks
- Make sure the Kuno device is powered on and has sufficient charge.
- Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
- Keep the device and your smartphone close together (under 5 meters, ideally with no walls in between).
- Open the Kuno app and wait a moment — syncing starts automatically.
Device not found
If the Kuno device doesn’t appear in the app, re-pair it:
- In the Kuno app, open Settings › Device.
- Remove the existing device from the list.
- Hold down the pairing button on the Kuno device until the recording LED blinks.
- Select the device again in the app and confirm pairing.
If that doesn’t help, also remove Kuno from your smartphone’s Bluetooth settings and repeat the pairing process.
Transfer stalls or fails
If progress stalls, it’s usually due to a weak signal or a large recording:
- Reduce the distance between the device and your smartphone.
- Keep the app open in the foreground until the transfer is complete.
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on once.
- Restart the Kuno app and wait for syncing to resume.
Long recordings can take a few minutes. The progress bar shows the current status.
Check app permissions
Without the right permissions granted, the app can’t establish a connection:
- Open your smartphone’s system settings.
- Allow the Kuno app access to Bluetooth and nearby devices.
- Turn off any active battery optimization for the Kuno app so syncing isn’t interrupted in the background.
