The original PLAUD NotePin cost US$159 on PLAUD’s US store when checked on 18 July 2026. That price includes the wearable recorder, magnetic pin, clip and the Starter plan with 300 transcription minutes per month. A paid plan is optional, but regular users may need Pro or Unlimited, so the meaningful number is the first-year total rather than hardware alone.
PLAUD sells in multiple regions and through app stores and retailers. Currency, VAT, shipping, discounts and subscription channel can change the checkout amount. The figures below use official US pages and are a dated comparison, not a permanent quote.
NotePin hardware price and what is included
The official NotePin product page listed the device at $159. PLAUD specifies 64 GB internal storage, up to 20 hours of continuous recording, two MEMS microphones and a weight of 0.59 oz or about 16.6 g. The box includes the magnetic pin, clip, charging dock and cable.
Do not confuse the original NotePin with the newer NotePin S, which PLAUD listed at $179. The company’s comparison says the S adds a tactile button, Press to Highlight and all four wearing accessories. If a retailer says only “NotePin,” verify the exact model and included accessories.

The annual Pro price is presented as $8.33 per month when averaged across the year; annual Unlimited is about $20 per month. Annual billing requires the full annual commitment. App Store or Google Play pricing and taxes may differ, and plan changes must generally be managed through the original purchase channel.

Monthly billing costs more over a full year but lets a user stop sooner. Annual billing is cheaper only if the plan remains useful for most of the term. Hardware replacement, optional accessories and extra-minute packages are separate.
To estimate your own tier, add the duration of meetings you genuinely want transcribed. Five one-hour meetings each month fit within Starter. What happens when minutes run out
PLAUD says recording and playback continue when the transcription allowance is exhausted, but new transcription pauses. It resumes after the monthly reset, an upgrade or an extra-minute purchase. Unused Starter and Pro minutes do not roll over.
This distinction matters: the device does not become unusable, but the AI workflow can stop at exactly the point a heavy user needs it. Treat the quota as a production limit. Monitor actual monthly minutes during the first two months before committing to Unlimited.
The company also describes Private Cloud Sync across its app, web and desktop services. Buyers handling sensitive conversations should review data residency, deletion, access and organizational controls for the exact plan and workspace, rather than treating a compliance badge as a complete assessment.
NotePin cost versus a phone or dedicated recorder

Starter is the rational default if monthly transcription stays below 300 minutes. Pro suits users who consistently need up to 1,200 minutes. Unlimited is a capacity decision for workloads above that level, not an automatic quality upgrade.
Before buying, check four numbers: local hardware checkout price, included minutes, annual plan total and expected recorded hours.
