Gong Pricing: What It Costs and What to Compare
Gong does not publish a dependable public rate card. Learn how quote-based pricing works, which cost drivers to ask about and how to compare total value.
On this page +
Gong does not publish a dependable public price list that lets every buyer calculate a current total. Its official contact page directs organisations looking for products and pricing to the sales team. Therefore, the accurate answer to “What is the Gong price?” is: request a written quote for your exact products, users, implementation and contract term.
Third-party numbers may help establish a negotiation range, but they are not Gong’s current rate card and should not be presented as fact. This guide focuses on how to make the quote comparable.
Is Gong pricing publicly available?
Gong’s official contact page asks people seeking the right products and pricing to contact sales. Gong’s main site describes its current Revenue AI platform and product areas, but it does not expose a universal self-service price table.
That means a quote can vary with scope and negotiation. Before evaluating it, ask Gong to state:
- the legal entity and currency;
- products or modules included;
- user categories and seat counts;
- minimum commitment;
- contract start, end and renewal terms;
- implementation or onboarding fees;
- support level;
- usage or storage limits;
- integrations and API access;
- taxes and annual price changes.
Without those details, a headline “per user” figure is not comparable.
What are you buying from Gong?
Gong’s official site positions the product as a Revenue AI OS, not merely a recorder. It describes applications and capabilities spanning customer-interaction capture, engagement, forecasting, enablement, agents and revenue context.
The quote should therefore identify which problem you are paying to solve.
| Need | Question for the quote |
|---|---|
| Call recording and transcripts | Which meeting and telephony sources are included? |
| Sales coaching | Which analytics, scorecards and libraries are included? |
| Forecasting | Is Gong Forecast included or separately licensed? |
| Engagement | Are outreach workflows and usage included? |
| Enablement | Which coaching or training features require another product? |
| CRM automation | Which CRM, fields, writebacks and APIs are supported? |
| AI agents | Which agents are included and are there usage limits? |
A team that needs only searchable transcripts should not compare its requirement with the price of a full revenue platform. Conversely, a forecasting organisation should not compare Gong with a basic transcription app.
Build a total-cost model
Use a three-year model even if the initial commitment is shorter.
Total cost = recurring licences + platform fees + implementation + integrations + internal administration + change management + renewal increases − replaced tools
Create a worksheet like this:
| Cost line | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 3 | Evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Platform or base fee | Quote section | |||
| User licences | Seats × rate | |||
| Optional products | Product schedule | |||
| Implementation | Statement of work | |||
| Integrations | Vendor and internal work | |||
| Training/admin | Internal estimate | |||
| Renewal uplift | Contract clause | |||
| Replaced tools | Current contracts |
Do not silently treat employee time as free. CRM mapping, security review, manager training, call-library design and governance all require owners.
Questions to ask Gong sales
Send the questions before the pricing call so the answer can appear in the proposal:
- Which products and capabilities are included in this quote?
- Which user roles require paid access?
- Is there a platform fee or minimum number of seats?
- Are implementation and CRM integration mandatory?
- What happens if headcount falls during the term?
- Are recording, transcription, storage, API or AI-agent usage capped?
- Which support tier is included?
- What is the renewal mechanism and maximum increase?
- Can data be exported in usable formats at contract end?
- Which security, privacy and data-residency terms apply to our account?
Ask for a revised order form if a verbal answer changes the economics. Procurement should rely on the signed documents, not meeting notes.
Compare price with actual adoption
The useful denominator is not purchased seats; it is the number of people and workflows producing value.
Measure a pilot with agreed baselines:
- percentage of eligible conversations captured;
- weekly active users;
- manager coaching sessions using real calls;
- CRM fields updated automatically and correctly;
- time saved on follow-up;
- forecast or pipeline decisions changed by the data;
- security and consent exceptions;
- exports and deletions completed successfully.
If reps record but managers never coach and CRM data remains unreliable, the platform is underused regardless of discount. If several existing tools can be retired and a critical forecast process improves, a higher quote may still have a stronger return.
For the narrower recording category, compare AI meeting note takers and free meeting recorder software separately from revenue intelligence.
Privacy and recording governance belong in the price
Conversation intelligence centralises customer speech, employee performance signals and commercial strategy. Include privacy, security and legal review in the buying process. Confirm consent notices, role-based access, retention, deletion, subprocessors, model-training terms, export and incident response.
The EU’s official data-protection overview is a starting point for GDPR obligations. Recording laws and employment rules can add separate requirements. This is general information, not legal advice.
Read whether a conversation can be recorded without consent before deploying automatic capture broadly.
Gong versus Kuno: compare only the overlap
Gong and Kuno are not equivalent products.
| Dimension | Gong | Kuno |
|---|---|---|
| Primary category | Revenue AI platform | Physical AI voice recorder |
| Main environment | Sales and customer-interaction workflows | In-person and field conversations |
| Commercial route | Sales quote | Hardware plus monthly or annual AI plan |
| Scope | Capture, analytics and revenue applications | Dedicated privacy-first capture and AI workflow |
| Origin | Global software platform | Made in Germany |
Kuno captures audio on-device, with EU-hosted processing and storage where described by the service. It may complement a revenue platform where important conversations happen at customer sites, trade fairs or rooms that meeting software cannot enter.
Review Kuno’s current plans if the requirement is dedicated in-person capture rather than a full revenue operating platform.

The decision rule
Do not approve or reject Gong based on an online estimate. Obtain a scoped quote, normalise it across the full contract term and test the workflows that are supposed to create value. Compare platform functionality with platform alternatives, and compare recording-only needs with simpler tools.
The answer to Gong’s price is not one number; it is a documented package. Your task is to make every line of that package visible.
See Kuno plans and early access for dedicated physical capture with monthly or annual AI options.
