ClickUp AI Notetaker is designed to bring online meeting notes into ClickUp. It can reduce copying between a video-call tool and project work, but it should be evaluated as one part of a workflow: supported meetings, bot behavior, output review, privacy controls and plan terms all matter.
What it does
ClickUp’s official AI Notetaker help describes support for Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings and explains how meeting notes are created in ClickUp. Because product packaging changes, use the current help and pricing pages rather than a third-party list for entitlement decisions.
The useful promise is not “AI notes.” It is a shorter path from conversation to work:
- schedule or identify an eligible online meeting;
- have the notetaker join;
- receive a transcript and generated notes;
- verify the output;
- turn accepted actions into ClickUp work.

A meeting bot can be visible to participants and capture the call feed, but it may be blocked by host settings or organizational policy. It also cannot solve microphone quality for people sharing one conference-room device.

- successful joins versus eligible meetings;
- transcript accuracy on names and terminology;
- correct decisions, owners and dates;
- time from meeting end to usable notes;
- percentage of notes that require material correction;
- permissions and accidental exposure;
- export and deletion behavior;
- adoption by meeting owners.

Privacy and governance
Tell participants when a meeting assistant is present and obtain required permission. Confirm where recording, transcript and generated notes are processed and stored; who can access them; whether content trains models; and which retention settings apply. Generated notes can expose confidential speech more quickly than replaying a recording.
Do not automate task creation from high-stakes meetings until a named person approves the summary. A wrong due date copied into the project system is harder to spot than a transcript error.
Alternatives by meeting type
Platform-native recording may be sufficient when a team needs only a recording and transcript. A general meeting assistant may suit teams working across several project systems.
